Information on British Gas Business Electricity
The energy industry has a strategy of moving households and businesses onto smart meters or half-hourly meters. For businesses, the P272 legislation changed all meters starting with 05 or above into externally readable meter readings. Data is extracted remotely and fed directly into your billing invoice.
Your invoice multiplies your tariff unit rate by the consumption data to arrive at a total cost. Additional charges for renewable initiatives plus VAT provides a total bill.
There is no longer a requirement to read your meter manually. The good news for British Gas customers is that rates are slightly cheaper for a half-hourly tariff.
To compare and quote for British Gas electricity, our advice is to use an independent energy broker. All will have access to each supplier’s tariff book and can advise on the lowest price for your company. A broker can also manage your contract when it renews.
