British Gas Business Deemed Rates
If you have moved your business and are using gas and electricity without a contract, you will be on a deemed rates plan. Your energy company may also put your business on the same plan if you keep using energy even after your current deal has expired or been ended by yourself or the company.

BG (British Gas) Lite is the current electric meter supplier at this property address, which we purchased at the end of June. The meter is a commercial meter. The property has units downstairs and a flat above.
We have tried to move the new owners to transfer from the previous owners. The only way to contact BG Lite is via Chat.
We have tried four times to transfer ownership. We provided them with the requested documents, including the TR1 document signed by the seller and us as purchasers. We also provided the Council Tax bill for the flat above and other documents to show the ownership.
The Land Registry has a backlog and still needs to update the Deed details for the new owners.
Despite our efforts, BG Lite insists on receiving the TR1 document directly from the Land Registry. This process takes up to an hour, and we are unable to proceed with the transfer until this document is provided.
They are absolutely a WASTE of TIME and ZERO RATED company. DO NOT GO ANYWAY NEAR IT.

There is no longer a requirement to read your meter manually. The good news for British Gas customers is that rates are slightly cheaper for a half-hourly tariff.
