About Octopus Energy

Octopus Investments primarily funds Octopus Energy, one of the fastest-growing investment management firms in the UK and the UK’s largest solar power investor. In a number of instances, Octopus Energy has been appointed Ofgem’s supplier of last resort, taking on customers when other providers have collapsed. This includes acquiring 580,000 customers from failed supplier, Avro, at the end of 2021.

Octopus Energy boasts simplicity, transparency and great customer service as part of their model, abandoning lock-in contracts and promising an average email response-rate of 30 minutes. They are also part of the Warm Home Discount scheme.

They offer two main home tariffs, their fixed tariff (Octopus Fixed) and standard variable tariff (Flexible Octopus). The tariffs are available as both direct debit and PAYG. Business tariffs and EV tariffs are also available from Octopus Energy.
