About So Energy
So Energy is a 100% renewable energy supplier for UK households and is backed by Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) Certificates. The company first entered the market at the end of 2015. In 2018, they were awarded the Energy Provider of the Year by Moneyfacts and named Citizens Advice’s number one supplier. In 2021, ESB Energy purchased the business, increasing So Energy’s customer base to around 310,000.
As well as renewable energy, So Energy offer online account management and paperless billing to further minimise the carbon footprint of its customers. The company also gives customers the opportunity to vote on where their electricity comes from each year: wind, solar, hydro, or biomass.
So Energy offers a number of fixed-rate tariffs and one standard variable tariff. The company holds a low price commitment which aims to guarantee that its fixed tariff price per kWh is within the cheapest 10% of the market. Tariffs are only available as direct debit and are not available as Pay As You Go.

These figures are correct as of October 2025 using the So Flex tariff rates for a property within a London postcode with payment made via Direct Debit. Other UK regions have different prices that could be higher or lower than those quoted.
