About us Information
An Overview
The company behind the website brand has been in existence since 2003 providing help and guidance with utility bills all across the UK. Our system uses technology to find available plans for individually metered premises across the entire market.
Our History
During 2003 our founder Daniel Davies was reviewing all of his household bills and was frustrated when trying to decide which options were available and make an informed choice. He then founded this company to provide an easy route to market and develop awareness amongst consumers.
The website was developed and launched during 2009 initially for the residential market. This service was then expanded to cater for commercial customers as the process is more in-depth and contractually based.
During the past 12 months, 143,564 people used the services of this site for information, help and guidance to the market. Daniel is now using his 15 year’s experience in the energy market to develop additional services to help you reduce your bills.
Recently we set-up telephone helplines for residential and business customers that operate Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. You can compare prices and select a new tariff from our UK-based customer services team. We can also assist you with changing meters or billing problems.
All products are free to use, and we charge no commission to the end customer. They are impartial, and you are under no obligation to proceed with any recommendations we make to you.
We have strong relationships with all the major suppliers such as British Gas, npower and SSE, as well as new companies such as Bulb, UGP, Gasprom and Utilita.
The Future
The industry has evolved in recent years with Ofgem reducing the number of available options per provider and making it easier to make decisions.
The energy sector is a commodity market, so cost always wins when thinking about reducing bills. There are still wide variations between the power companies and a range of fixed, variable and capped options.
We will continue to innovate and provide features and guides to help anyone that has a meter locate a plan that is suited to their circumstances.
