Npower Sign Online 17 at a Glance
This tariff is for online users only so that you sign up to the tariff on the Npower website and manage your account on their site which means you won’t get a paper bill any longer for your electricity and gas (you’ll receive an email notifying you that a bill is ready) and you submit your meter readings yourself. This means that your bills will be accurate and not overestimated. There is a guaranteed discount against their standard tariff which lasts until 31st March 2011. In summary therefore this tariff has the following features:
- Exclusive online deal
- Must pay by monthly direct debit
- Manage your account, bills and meter readings online
- This tariff has a standing charge (*)
- You could save on average £349 against the Npower standard tariff
- Guaranteed 2% discount against standard tariff not paid by direct debit
- Early exit fee of £30
- For new customers only
- Not available for pre payment meters
(*) a standing charge means you will be invoiced a fixed amount each day no matter how much electricity you use. Other energy companies have tariffs without standing charges so you’ll need to compare by using you total annual consumption with Npower and the other main providers such as British Gas.
What else with the sign online tariff?
Npower also has a web 17 tariff which works in exactly the same way for higher energy users so depending on your annual usage will depend on which tariff is right for your circumstances and the web 17 tariff also provides a £100 discount if you take both gas and electric supplies from Npower as a dual fuel tariff but you get this discount no matter what tariff you take from Npower.
The npower website customer services area is extremely easy to use for entering meter readings and reading your bill.
You’ll also receive a free home energy monitor which shows you at a glance how much electricity you are using right now, the daily average and for the last 24 hours. These normally retail at £39.99 and could save up to 15% off your bills because you can see immediately what energy your home is consuming and can turn off appliances that are not required. It also shows the actual cost based on the tariff you are on.
So if you are not a current Npower customer then you should get an online quote and compare it to some of the British Gas tariffs in your area to see if the new sign online 17 tariff can save you money on your electricity and gas bills for the next year and more.
