British Gas Websaver 7 Tariff Review

The latest incarnation of the British Gas websaver tariff is 7 which replaces the websaver 6 tariff. The rates are the same but the contract period has now been extended. British Gas Websaver 7 Summary

The new British Gas websaver 7 allows you to benefit from their lowest tariff prices available online for a fixed period of time. The prices are 6% less than their standard tariff and you’ll benefit from these until 1st July 2011.

What else about this tariff ?

This is a flexible tariff so if prices increase or decrease over the time period then so will your websaver rates. With this tariff you’ll also benefit from paperless billing and the ability to manage your account online which includes submitting your own meter readings so you’ll know your bill will be 100% accurate.

It’s available for new and existing British Gas customers and you must pay by monthly direct debit. If you want to cancel or change this tariff in the time period this operates then you’ll have to pay a £30 cancellation fee.

Is this the cheapest tariff on offer in the UK ?

The answer to this question is “it depends” – because prices for electricity and gas vary by region around the country you’ll need to get a quote and see if British Gas, npower, southern electric, Eon or EDF offer the best prices for your postcode. It will be the cheapest for some people and the discount is guaranteed until 1st July 2011 so you’ll know you’ll be getting the best deal from British Gas if you want to be a customer of theirs.
