British Gas Websaver 6 Tariff Prices and Rates

The ever popular web saver tariff from British Gas has now launched with guaranteed discounts until May 2011 for people switching over.

With the announcement of a 7% reduction in all energy prices today British Gas launched Websaver 6 which offers additional discounts over its already low standard tariff offers this fixed priced right up to 1st May 2011. Web saver 6 replaces the recent web saver 5 tariff which had the same terms and conditions but only guaranteed prices until February 2011.

This is now one of the very cheapest electricity tariffs in the UK and British Gas is being extremely competitive in this market place. In addition customers can get further discounts on their energy bills by paying by monthly direct debit or choosing a dual fuel tariff.

There is a £30 cancellation fee with this product but with the announcement that energy prices were being reduced by 7% with immediate effect many thousands of people in the UK could find that this tariff will potentially save them a significant amount on their gas and electricity bills over the forthcoming year.

The websaver 6 tariff is a fixed rate tariff meaning that your bills will not rise at all over the next 14 months.

British Gas say the reduction in standard energy prices is due to the falling cost of wholesale gas prices which it has passed onto customers. The websaver 6 deal is now the cheapest on the market with an average household paying £899 for dual fuel (when taken out online and paid via monthly direct debit) and the closest competitor in the market today is Npower where their price for an average user is £907. If you are on a standard tariff and paying the bill as you receive it either via cheque or telephone banking then you’ll be paying around £1,230 per year on average (with the most expensive being with Scottish Power at a whopping £1,362 on standard tariff).

So there are many reasons to switch. If you are simply with British Gas on their standard tariff today and paying a paper bill you’ll be paying on average £1,147 per year so just by switching to direct debit and fixing your prices for a year or so you could save over £200. And of course that gets much better if you are on the most expensive tariff as yearly savings could be over £400.

With websaver 6 you’ll also be managing your account online and have paperless billing which is great for the environment and the cost savings British Gas are making from their administration are being passed straight onto you their customer. This like all websaver products is on a limited availability so it would be worth popping over to the British Gas website and seeing how much web saver 6 could cost you for your home energy bills. Everything can be done online from checking the cost of electricity and gas to applying and having this tariff for your home energy in minutes.

The cancellation fee is only if you choose to switch out of this tariff before 1st August 2010 and is £30 per fuel type. So see how much British Gas Websaver 6 tariff can save you today.
